Assistant Field Manager

The Assistant Field Manager (AFM) plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, gives assignments based on capability and expertise, evaluates the performance of subordinates and develops performance standards, provides advice or instruction on work and administrative matters, and identifies developmental and training needs of employees.The AFM is responsible for programming and annual budget submissions and ensures program accomplishments are within budget allocations. Provides input to the preparation, implementation and conformance of the land use, interdisciplinary activity and ecosystem plans. Ensures all activities are in compliance with approved land use plans and specific actions meet stipulations and mitigating measures identified in environmental documents.Physical Demands:
Work is primarily in an office setting with frequent travel to field sites via four wheel drive vehicles, fixed wing aircraft, helicopters and boats, with a potential for adverse climatic conditions and involves walking, bending and climbing on steep and rough terrain. Work environment:
Most work completed in an office setting; field site involve exposure to adverse weather including rain, snow, cold and/or heat, and requires special safety precautions, requiring adherence to all safety rules and regulation as prescribed in manuals and supplements or by the designated Safety Officer. In order to be rated as qualified for this position, we must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirement - please be sure to include this information in your resume. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade (GS-11) of the position to be filled. For GS-12:
One (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-11) in Federal service. Specialized experience is further defined as demonstrated experience in workforce and strategic planning, identifying issues, resolving conflicts and negotiating solutions, and oversight responsibilities for administrative and financial management functions, as well as managing or supervising a variety of different program areas, such as resource management, budget or human resource functions. There is no substitution of education for experience at the GS-12 and above grade levels. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade requirement in accordance with 5 CFR 300.604. If you are a current Federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
